IRELAND CRITICAL SKILLS EMPLOYMENT PERMIT
The Ireland Critical Skills Employment Permit (CSEP) is designed to attract highly skilled non-EEA professionals to work and settle in Ireland. This program supports Ireland’s economic development by filling skill shortages in key sectors like ICT, engineering, healthcare, finance, and more. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
To qualify for the Critical Skills Employment Permit, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be a non-EEA citizen (non-EU, non-EEA, non-Swiss).
- Have a job offer in an occupation listed on Ireland’s Critical Skills Occupations List (e.g., software engineers, nurses, data analysts, civil engineers).
- Annual salary requirements:
- At least €38,000 for occupations requiring a relevant degree (e.g., ICT professionals, Engineers & Technical Skilled).
- At least €76,000 for all other eligible occupations.
- The job offer must be full-time, permanent (minimum 2 years) and from a registered Irish employer.
- The applicant must possess the necessary qualifications, skills, and experience for the role.
- No labor market needs test is required for eligible roles.
APPLICATION PROCESS
- Secure a Job Offer
Obtain a job offer in an eligible occupation with the minimum salary requirement. - Prepare and Submit Application
Either the employer or the employee can apply through the Employment Permits Online System (EPOS). Required documents include a valid passport, signed job offer, employment contract, and qualifications. - Pay the Application Fee
- €1,000 for a 2-year permit (refundable if refused).
- Receive Employment Permit
Processing time is typically 4–8 weeks. If approved, you’ll receive your Critical Skills Employment Permit. - Apply for Entry Visa (if required)
Non-visa-exempt nationals must apply for a D-type employment visa at the nearest Irish embassy or consulate. - Travel to Ireland and Register with Immigration
Upon arrival, register with the Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Service (INIS) and receive your Irish Residence Permit (IRP).
