ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

APPLICATION PROCESS
  1. Secure a Job Offer
    Find a qualifying position with a German employer that meets the salary and skill level requirements.
  2. Validate Your Degree
    Ensure your foreign degree is recognized in Germany via the ANABIN database or apply for degree equivalency.
  3. Apply for a National Visa (if outside Germany)
    Submit a D-type visa application at the German embassy or consulate in your home country.
  4. Enter Germany and Apply for the EU Blue Card
    After arrival, apply for the Blue Card at the Foreigners’ Office (Ausländerbehörde) with your job contract, degree, and other supporting documents.
  5. Receive the Blue Card
    Initial validity: up to 4 years or duration of your work contract plus 3 months.
